This area is spacious with access to our comprehensive range of equipment including:

  • two modern anaesthetic machines

  • a state-of-the art ultrasound machine (including colour Doppler facility)

  • a large range of endoscopes enabling us to view areas as diverse as the inside of a cat's stomach to the nasal cavity of a dog.

The practice owner, Steven Hancox, is also developing the fields of laparoscopy and thoracoscopy within this practice. These procedures enable the surgeon to see within the abdomen or chest of an animal without having to make a large (potentially painful) wound. Instead, a small number of tiny wounds are used to insert fine instruments and a camera. By doing so, we are able to get a better view of structures (because of the magnification produced by the camera) and the animal has much less discomfort afterwards, often going home within hours of finishing the procedure.

The same techniques can also be used inside joints (arthroscopy).
